Majlis Wallcovering
An emerald and gold wallcovering system inspired by vine rhythm and Arabesque elegance.
The brief.
For Majlis interiors, the wall is not only a background. It defines atmosphere, hospitality and visual identity. This wallcovering concept uses deep emerald color and fine gold vine linework to create a calm but luxurious decorative surface — where the floor is heavy, the wall is weightless.
- —Target space: Majlis rooms, VIP lounges, hotel suites, private villas, feature walls
- —Target customer: villa owners, hospitality projects, interior designers
- —Cultural direction: Arabesque plant scroll meets Chinese vine rhythm
- —Material direction: embossed wallcovering, textile wall fabric, metallic ink
- —Visual mood: deep emerald calm, antique gold line, warm atmospheric light
Where the vine comes from.
The traditional vine is reduced into a softer continuous line. Instead of heavy ornament, the pattern becomes a subtle wall rhythm suitable for modern Middle Eastern interiors. The vine curve is lightened, the flower node becomes a small gold dot, and the leaf rhythm slows — so the wall reads as a whisper, not a shout.
From motif to material.
Six steps take the vine from a traditional line drawing to a buildable surface — the same method across all hi9 works.
Soften the vine
Lighten the S-curve so it flows as a wall rhythm, not a heavy ornament.
Reduce flower node
Replace the peony bud with a small gold dot — a moment of light on emerald.
Slow leaf rhythm
Space the leaves further apart so the wall breathes between each motif.
Tone-on-tone option
Offer a tone-on-tone emerald variant for even more restraint.
Test at room scale
Mock the pattern at 3m wall height — check it reads from across a Majlis.
Pair with floor
Match the wallcovering to the vine parquet below — one language, two weights.
The right material.
Emerald Base
Deep emerald ground — the calm of the Majlis wall.
Antique Gold Line
Fine vine linework in metallic ink — catches warm light.
Embossed Texture
Raised wallcovering surface — tactile depth.
Textile Wall Fabric
Optional fabric-backed variant for acoustic warmth.
Matte Finish
Matte emerald — no glare, refined luxury.
Ivory Trim
Optional ivory border trim for panel definition.
The vine, in space.
Each rendering drops the design into a real Middle Eastern interior — so you can see the vine walk, lean and live before any material is cut.
